The RitL 7th Tradition reads:
"Every Recovery group ought to be fully self-supporting,
declining outside contributions."
We are overjoyed to say that RitL has grown significantly since our inception in July of 2005! We have gone from 1 monthly meeting to
over a dozen groups throughout the country!
As with any growing group a prudent reserve is critical. The prudent reserve serves to cover the basic RitL operating costs, as well as enabling us to support our fellowship.
General Services is now taking 7th tradition donations in a few formats:
a check in the mail, or a secured online payment. Please email us for
information if you prefer to send a check.

We will continue to be transparent in our use of fellowship funds and make sure that they are put to the best use of the fellowship and in how the groups/members vote for their usage.
As our fellowship has grown, more groups and members are bringing ideas to General Services consider for future implementation. Growing as a fellowship, having our own literature, medallions, and so forth means that we will need to have a greater prudent reserve in place; should we decide as a fellowship to do any of those things. Historically we have maintained a very small prudent reserve which only barely covered the two online domains each year that are maintained for the fellowship: recoveryinthelifestyle.org & ritl.org
As we are an AA World Services approved 12-Step fellowship, we often model our actions after their experiences. Though because the RitL fellowship includes membership from multiple programs that also influences the changes we are experiencing in our growth.
